This makes Micro Rings a cost-effective option, as the same hair can last up to two years. They are best suited for clients with normal to dense hair types who want safe, reliable extensions.
What Are Micro Bond Hair Extensions?
Micro Bonds, sometimes referred to as keratin bonds, use a different approach. Each strand is tipped with a tiny piece of keratin resin, the same protein found in hair and nails. Our stylists roll the bond by hand alongside small sections of your natural hair, creating a connection the size of a grain of rice. Because the bonds are formed in-salon, their size can be customised to suit each client’s hair density, making them one of the most discreet methods available.
Micro Bonds are particularly suited to clients with finer hair or those who want bonds placed closer to the hairline or nape, areas where rings might be more visible. While most salons use pre-tipped Asian or Indian hair that cannot be reused, we hand-tip Russian hair in-salon. This means that at maintenance appointments, the bonds are removed, the tops are trimmed, and the hair is retipped for reapplication. The only limitation is that each time the hair loses around half an inch to an inch in length.
Maintenance and Longevity
Both Micro Rings and Micro Bonds last around three months before requiring maintenance. With Micro Rings, the process involves sliding out the rings, rethreading them closer to the scalp, and reattaching the same strands.
